On your behalf, we will investigate and analyse the immediate cause of any adverse events:
- obvious reason of an adverse event

Clear action for any adverse events means:
- you have no injured people, their families or a demoralised workforce

- criminal action is unlikely
We will ensure that firm recommendations and/or an action plan result from an investigation.
By learning from accidents and incidents we can help improve on your risk assessments and safe systems of work to prevent the same occurrence from happening again.
Accreditation Assistance
In many cases, it is extremely beneficial for you to become accredited to a third-party health and safety scheme.
- CHAS
- Constructionline
- SAFEcontractor
- and others…
Your accreditation can open the door to a source of new clients. Many of these schemes hold a full database of accredited companies available for member companies to view, aiding search and selection of suitable sub-contractors with the necessary skills and experience. Gaining an accreditation, would make sure your business appears in the database so contractors can easily find you.
Johnson Health & Safety will assist you to prepare, complete, compile and submit your application for accreditation.
Your accreditation to third-party health and safety schemes shows you have a well-maintained, live, accessible and effective health and safety management system as well as demonstrating to the contractor your commitment to providing safe and healthy working conditions for you and your employees.
Bespoke Safety Systems
Every company is different. Johnson Health & Safety tailors our health and safety systems to specifically meet the needs of your company.
Each and every health and safety management system we assist to produce is a working document, specific to you and your company, and changing as your company changes.
We work with you. Each part of your health and safety management system will be drafted, written, developed and implemented in complete agreement and full understanding with you at all times.
Ensure you have the most appropriate system for the needs of your organisation.
Fire
Do you have a Fire Risk Assessment?
Further to the initial launch of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in the October of 2006, many companies have been penalised in court for not having a Fire Risk Assessment covering their premises.
Johnson Health & Safety assist you in the preparation and development of a Fire Safety Management System, inclusive of a full Fire Risk Assessment, to suit your premises and work activities, and helping you to comply with current Fire Legislation.
Fire damage will cost you money in repairs, loss of business and negative publicity. Some businesses have even become bankrupt as the result of fire simply because they have not fully addressed the fire risks within their premises. Make sure this is not you.
Let us help you create an up-to-date fire risk assessment that could help save your business.
Inspections
Did you know the HSE could inspect your business at any time?
Health & Safety Executive (HSE) inspectors may carry out spot inspections on companies and organisations at any time with no notice.
HSE inspectors examine your arrangements for assessing and controlling risks from work-related pressures or other health and safety at work issues. Inspectors are looking for evidence that your company has undertaken or plans to complete suitable and sufficient risk assessment in all your activities.
Inspectors may speak to a range of your employees:
- Chief Executive / Owner / Director
- Health and Safety consultant
- Personnel / Human Resources
- Recognised trade union / staff-side representatives
Since 2012, HSE have operated a Fee For Intervention system whereby if the inspector has to carry out more than a simple visit, and finds a material breach of current health and safety legislation, the HSE will charge you £129.00 per hour, pro rata, for the whole visit.
Johnson Health & Safety will help you to ensure your business meets current standards and complies with up-to-date health and safety legislation saving you money from costly inspections.
Training & Toolbox Talks
Johnson Health & Safety offers professional Training and Toolbox Talks for you and your staff to introduce new working methods and to keep you and your employees safe from harm.
Your business benefits when your workforce knows what it’s doing on a daily basis, and you have confidence in the knowledge that your employees fully understand safe working practices.
As qualified trainers, we can deliver up-to-date safety talks in an easy-to-understand format helping your employees better understand the whys, wherefores and reasoning behind the tasks that they carry out on a day-to-day basis.
Toolbox Talks are designed to take no longer than 15 minutes based on your working methods and requirements. We treat Risk and COSHH Assessments in the same way so that everyone benefits by fully understanding each subject.
Toolbox talks usually occur at the beginning of the working day for maximum effect, however we will work with you to meet your needs.
Health and safety training programmes and qualifications are also available for you and your staff. Please see the Training section for further details.
